I spent a lot of time with BB during the three years I was a student in the minor seminary in Riverside from 1963-1966, in particular working with him out around the grounds when assigned to help him with his duties. I can’t remember a time when he wasn’t outgoing, friendly, when the joy he took in his work, in his vocation didn’t show. He, along with Fr. Ray Etienne, Br. Vincent Webb, and Fr. Fisher Robinson made a profound impression on me during those years. It was a blessing that Fr. Ray Etienne was able to witness the wedding of my wife Marjorie and I in Bakersfield in 1976, while he was a deacon. I regret not having made more of an effort to stay in contact with the SVD community in Riverside over the years, but I am happy that I was twice able to visit with BB during two visits to Techny, most recently in October 2015, when I was visiting my aunt Sr. Priscilla Burke, SSpS. I will keep BB and the community in my prayers.

    1. Thanks Henry. BB will always remain in our hearts and memories.
      Welcome to Riverside.

I was a camper at the Seminary in 1966-67. I was around 10 years old and still remember with great fondness “Brother” Raymond. More than 50 years later I still think of him often. He showed a concern and love for the boys that was just what this struggling boy needed. In all the years since I still think of Brother Ray as someone who loved God and taught His word to the youngest amongst us.
Rest in Peace Brother, I wish I had found you again sooner.
