We are joyfully celebrating the 150th anniversary of our Religious Missionary Community. Each province has the freedom to choose how to mark this milestone. Our province, with the encouragement and support of our Provincial, Fr. Jon Kirby, SVD, and his council, has invited francisca to share her Contemporary Religious Art through a special exhibition fittingly entitled “Proclaiming the Word.”
In June 2024, Pope Francis, whose memory remains deeply cherished among us, addressed our SVD community with these stirring words: “Love the Word of God with your whole heart, soul, and strength.” Reflecting on this, Fr. Wojciech, SVD, commented, “In those few words, our beloved Pope reminds us of who we were, who we are, and who we are called to be.”
The setting for the exhibition is the beautiful Stone House Chapel at Divine Word Riverside. It features over 40 pieces created in various mediums, each inspired by Scripture. Francisca shares her mission statement through the words of St. Paul: “To Proclaim Christ Crucified and the Power of His Resurrection.”
This exhibition is more than a display of religious art; it is an invitation. As Pilgrims of Hope, it offers us a chance to renew our journey of faith and deepen the spirituality in our own lives.
