Christmas and Founders Day Celebrated

On January 15th majority of the province members gathered at Divine Word Residence to celebrate Founders Day and Province Christmas celebration. The celebrations began with the Eucharistic celebration presided by the Provincial Soney Sebastian. During his homily he spoke about the importance of family by giving reference to the influence of family and family traditions, practices and devotions in the life of our Founder Saint Arnold Janssen. He also made reference to the last General Chapter and the need for spiritual renewal and awakening. With an interesting story he highlighted the importance and meaning of total commitment in our life and mission.

The Mass was followed by a delicious dinner arranged and prepared under the supervision of Melvin James. After the dinner everyone gathered in the recreation hall for the traditional gift exchange. It was coordinated by Arul Pragasam and Yori Sodanago. As usual there was a great attraction to gifts with money or gift cards. Carol songs sung in between the gift exchange added life to the celebration. Everyone enjoyed being together and having some fun time. We thank the Rector and the Divine Word Residence members and staff for arranging such a wonderful evening. Special thanks to Yori Sodanago for leading the music for the Mass.
