On Saturday 19th the Diocese of San Bernardino concluded the Year of Mercy with a Mass at Queen of Angeles Parish, Riverside. More than 70 priests from the Diocese concelebrated. Over 1500 deacons, religious and lay faithful joined Bishops Barnes and Rutilio in offering thanks to the Lord.
Bishop Barnes in his powerful and faith-filled homily asked each parish in the Diocese to keep the spirit of the Year of Mercy alive by choosing a special parish wide “Mercy Lives” project or initiative that will work on throughout future years in parishes and neighborhoods. “The Jubilee now ends and the Holy Door is closed. But the door of mercy of our heart continues to remain wide open.” says Pope Francis. I am sure the words of Pope Francis will continue to challenge us.
